Secunorm 500 – high safety through automatic blade retraction

robust metal housing | wide blade opening | smooth-running slider

The Secunorm 500 stands out for its ergonomic design, which sits securely and without fatigue in the hand even during intensive continuous use with well over 1,000 cuts per day. At only 73 grams it is one of the lightest safety knives in its class and therefore remains comfortable to guide over full shifts. The thumb slider can be operated directly from both sides – right- and left-handed users can switch hands at any time without conversion, which saves time at changing workstations in logistics, retail or production. For safety officers and logistics managers who rely on low weight combined with high handling safety, the Secunorm 500 is therefore a well-thought-out choice for everyday professional work. Applications & cutting materials

The Secunorm 500 shows its strengths across a wide range of cutting tasks: corrugated board, adhesive tape and PVC film are cut through just as reliably as PP or PET strapping. The trapezoid blade also delivers clean cuts on rubber, non-woven fabrics and thick films, as well as on big bag cords and polystyrene.

Continuous blade without predetermined breaking points, no risk of a segment breaking off uncontrolled.
Rounded tip
Prevents puncture injuries without limiting the cutting performance of the blade edge. Particularly relevant for overhead or blind work.

Handle & ergonomics

Ergonomic design
The handle shape is designed around the hand position when cutting and reduces fatigue with repeated use.
SoftGrip
Reduces fatigue over long shifts thanks to grippy, padded zones.
Left- and right-handed
Can be used with either hand, with or without conversion depending on the model, equally suitable for left- and right-handed users.
Large slider
Generously sized, can be operated safely and over a large area, even with gloves.
Smooth-running slider
Operates with little effort, noticeably more comfortable with frequent use.
Weight < 100 g
Noticeably lighter than all-metal knives without giving up stability. Comfortable with frequent, repeated use throughout the day. This model weighs 73 g.

Blade

Premium carbon steel
Refined alloy with even better edge retention, for particularly demanding continuous use.
Uncoated
Constant basic sharpness without coating wear, cost-efficient and proven. The most economical choice for standard applications.
High initial sharpness
Especially sharp from the first cut, ideal when maximum cutting performance is needed immediately.
Long edge life
Much longer service life until the next blade change than standard blades. Reduces change intervals and blade consumption in intensive use.

Special features

Wide housing opening
The generously sized opening makes blade changes easier, even with gloves.
Tool-free blade change
Insert a new blade without tools, done in seconds.
Eyelet
For attaching to a belt, carabiner or lanyard so the knife stays within easy reach.
