automatic blade retraction | wide blade opening | outstanding ergonomics
The martor Secunorm 175 safety knife combines automatic blade retraction (safety level 1) with a wide, dirt-tolerant blade opening and a robust GRP handle. The outstanding ergonomics are particularly noticeable in intensive continuous use: the knife sits lightly and securely in the hand, can be operated from both sides by right- and left-handed users and weighs only 31 grams. The rectangular blade, ground on both sides, with a cutting depth of 10 mm achieves a very long edge life thanks to being usable four times – the blade change is tool-free and magnet-assisted. As a model of the martor brand, one of the best-known names in the field of safety knives, the Secunorm 175 is particularly widespread in retail and logistics, where many cartons, adhesive tape and strapping have to be cut every day. A proven, field-tested choice for safety officers and logistics managers. Safety knives overview
Which materials is this knife made for — and where does it reach its limits?
Opening, cutting off flaps of and breaking down cartons is one of the most frequent tasks in goods receiving. Single- to triple-wall corrugated board can be cut through in a controlled manner without damaging the contents.
Palletised goods are secured with stretch film. The multi-layer film is cut open quickly and in a controlled manner when unpacking.
Strapping made of PP or PET secures parcels and pallets. Straps under tension are cut in a defined way – an important point for occupational safety.
Not every safety knife is built the same – and you only notice it when it matters in everyday use. In the knife know-how section we use six criteria to show you how the Secunorm 175 performs in the most important respects: from the safety mechanism and grip quality to blade performance. This lets you judge at a glance what sets this knife apart – and whether it suits your application. If you have questions about the choice, we are happy to advise you personally.
Everything about the Secunorm 175 in two compact PDFs: the product flyer summarises features and applications – the technical data sheet provides dimensions, blade specifications and safety information. Both are free to download.
