Concealed blade (level 3) | very narrow cutting channel | 3rd place in the BoxCutter test
The Secumax 145 shows its strengths on film, strapping, adhesive tape and light to medium cardboard. The deliberately narrow cutting channel ensures high safety but is not suitable for thick or bulky materials such as rubber, ropes or polystyrene.
Open PP and PET strapping, parcel tape and adhesive strips in a controlled way.
Cut open stretch, shrink and packaging film cleanly and safely.
Open corrugated cartons without touching the packed goods.
Level 3 safety knives offer the most consistent protection – the blade stays permanently concealed. The Secumax 145 implements this design in a particularly compact form and impressed in the BoxCutter test 2025 with top scores for safety and piercing behaviour. Here you can see at a glance what makes the 145 special – and where its limits lie.
The product data sheet for the Secumax 145 brings together all technical data, safety features and areas of application – compactly as a PDF, free of charge and immediately available. This gives you the most important arguments for procurement and occupational safety at a glance.

Download →If you would rather change the blade of a BoxCutter than replace the whole knife, the Secumax 350 is the right version: also a level 3 safety knife with a protective hook, but with tool-free blade change. This means the blade can easily be replaced when its sharpness declines.
The Secumax 145 was among the top 3 in the BoxCutter test 2025. Overall victory went to the Tortoris US53 with the lowest force required, closely followed by the best-value winner OLFA SK-15. If you want to change the blade, the CB100 is a strong alternative. Here you can see suitable safety knives with a concealed blade in direct comparison.
Using the large eyelet, the Secumax 145 can be secured with a lanyard – so it stays within easy reach and does not get lost in the warehouse. A collection box ensures safe disposal of dull knives, a cutting ruler ensures precise cuts and a belt pouch ensures quick access in daily use.
The most frequent questions about the Secumax 145: from the disposable principle without blade change and the narrow cutting channel to suitable materials and how it differs from the OLFA SK-15 and the Tortoris US53.
The Secumax 145 is a disposable knife: the blade is firmly and safely fitted in the housing and cannot be removed. In return, both cutting edges can be used – when one side is dull, you turn the knife over and cut with the second edge. After that the entire knife is replaced.
Very safe: the Secumax 145 is a level 3 safety knife with a concealed blade behind a protective hook. At only 3.8 mm, its cutting channel is one of the narrowest in the BoxCutter test 2025 – finger contact with the blade is not possible, and the protective hook remained undeformed in the load test.
The Secumax 145 is the right choice for films, stretch and shrink film, adhesive tape, strapping and cords, and for opening light corrugated cartons. Because of the deliberately narrow cutting channel, it is not suitable for thick or bulky materials such as rubber, ropes or polystyrene.
Yes, a tape slitter is integrated in the cutting head of the Secumax 145. In practice, however, it can only be used to a limited extent because the cutting head quickly sinks into the material when slitting. If you slit adhesive tape regularly, you will be more comfortable with the OLFA SK-15 or the Tortoris US53.
All three are level 3 safety knives with a concealed blade. The Secumax 145 reached 3rd place in the test and stands out for a particularly narrow cutting channel and compact design. The Tortoris US53 came first as the overall winner with the lowest force required, and the OLFA SK-15 was the best-value winner.
