Cutter knife with Auto-Lock, steel rail and spike for prying and scoring

one-handed Auto-Lock | 1 mm steel rail | spike for prying

This cutter knife extends and retracts the blade one-handed with the Auto-Lock slider: place your thumb on it and slide, and the blade locks into the selected position. The 1 mm thick stainless steel rail guides the blade stably; according to the manufacturer, the lock also withstands forceful cuts of up to 25 kg.

At the rear end, a stainless steel spike projects downwards. It serves as a prying and scoring tool, for example to prise open paint tins, to score adhesive tape or film, or to draw a line on the wall. The soft grip sits firmly in the hand. The manufacturer is OLFA (Japan).

Further features

Handle & ergonomics

Ergonomic design
The handle shape is designed around the hand position when cutting and reduces fatigue with repeated use.
SoftGrip
Reduces fatigue over long shifts thanks to grippy, padded zones.
Right-handed only
Handle and blade guide are designed for the right hand.
Weight > 100 g
Higher weight, usually due to all-metal construction. More robust, with somewhat less carrying comfort over long periods. This model weighs 110 g.

Blade

Adjustable cutting depth
Can be limited to protect the material underneath, e.g. the contents of a carton, from damage.
Carbon steel
Higher sharpness and longer edge retention than stainless steel. Ideal for dry environments with a high cutting frequency.
Black (fluorinated)
Additionally protects against corrosion and reduces material adhesion on the blade.
High initial sharpness
Especially sharp from the first cut, ideal when maximum cutting performance is needed immediately.
Long edge life
Much longer service life until the next blade change than standard blades. Reduces change intervals and blade consumption in intensive use.

Special features

Tape slitter
Integrated blade for opening adhesive tape in a targeted way, without having to use the main blade for it.
Tool-free blade change
Insert a new blade without tools, done in seconds.
Eyelet
For attaching to a belt, carabiner or lanyard so the knife stays within easy reach.
Knife type: Cutter knife
Precision tool with a narrow snap-off blade, for fine, controlled cuts in thin to medium material thicknesses.

  1. 1 Press the slider backwards against the slight resistance out of the housing.
  2. 2 Hold the blade on the retaining lug of the slider while doing so.
  3. 3 Remove the dull blade and dispose of it safely.
  4. 4 Place the new blade on the lug.
