Ceramic | safety grind | rounded corners
This trapezoid blade is made of ceramic and has a patented safety grind that reduces the risk of cut injuries. It is not as sharp as a metal blade but still cuts most materials. Ceramic does not rust, does not conduct electricity and is non-magnetic, spark-free and chemically neutral. According to the manufacturer, it stays sharp up to 10 times longer than metal blades in the CATRA test.
The blade is 19 mm wide and 0.8 mm thick, uncoated and ground on both sides with a double bevel; the corners are rounded. It fits two knives in our range. 2 pieces are supplied in a blister; the manufacturer is Slice. You will find further types in the overview of cutter knife blades.
Note: ceramic is harder than carbon steel but more sensitive to lateral forces, for example on curved cuts. At 0.8 mm the blade is therefore thicker than a steel blade.
