The OLFA RTY-2/NS is a rotary cutter with a 45 mm round blade (RB45) for fabric, leather, paper, film and wallpaper.
The split blade cover only ever exposes one side of the blade while the other stays covered; for the full cut you open both. You change the blade without tools with one click. The curved handle with a non-slip rubber coating is suitable for left- and right-handed users.
Which materials is this knife made for — and where does it reach its limits?
On the cutting mat, the 45 mm round blade runs through the length of fabric in one pass – the edge stays straight and the fabric does not distort.
The rolling blade cuts soft leather without dragging; curved contours can also be cut freehand.
Along a ruler you get exactly matching fabric pieces; the split cover exposes only the side of the blade facing the ruler.
Adjustable cutting depth: no.
Plastic (PP/PA) — light and cost-efficient, for occasional to regular use.
