C-URT GmbH has been a specialist supplier of safety knives and professional cutting solutions since 2014, based in Düsseldorf, Germany. The focus is on safe cutting applications in manufacturing, industry and logistics – opening packaging at goods in and goods out, cutting work in the production process, order picking. We supply businesses and industry throughout Europe.
Safety knives are at the centre, with three goals: preventing cuts, avoiding damage to goods and still allowing quick work. Blades, accessories and classic cutter and carpet knives are part of the range but play a supporting role.
Most suppliers sell their own brand. We take the opposite route: first look at the application, then find the knife that is suited to it – regardless of who makes it. We assess not only function but also ergonomics, safety, edge life and cost-effectiveness in daily use.
We carry products from 22 manufacturers and can also source almost any knife, blade and accessory available on the market. If the right solution is a knife we do not carry, we say so.
Manufacturer claims are advertising. That is why we test knives and blades in real use, under identical conditions, and publish the results in full – including the method, the measured values and the models that fail.
Mini disposable box cutters from industry, retail and the online market, tested in nine individual tests: finger protection, stability of the protective hook, initial sharpness, cutting resistance, edge life, cut quality, piercing test, handle comfort and special features. Edge life was counted out – the best model managed 1,146 cuts, the weakest failed after only a few.

Working with other makers’ products leads to products of our own. Under TORTORIS – Born to cut we offer safety knives that grew out of analysing existing models. Deliberately few, but for the most common applications – aiming to be at least equal to the best products on the market, often more ergonomic or more economical.
Plus 36 other knives – carpet knives, cutter knives, scrapers, deburring tools and the like. Only distinct products are counted, not packaging variants.
